

Louise J. Nicks, 82, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and Maui, Hawaii, has risen to be with her Lord Jesus after a bravely fought battle against heart disease and diabetes. She was born in New York City on January 19, 1932 to Louis and Frances Gallo. She was a loved and valued employee as a PBX supervisor at both the Sands and MGM Hotels here in Las Vegas. She became a self-made business owner operating one of the most well-known Activity Centers on the island of Maui, Hawaii. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was well liked and respected by many locals and tourists from around the world. After retiring, she enjoyed many of the Las Vegas hotels, shows, casinos, and buffets; however, her most treasured times were those spent with her three great-grandsons. She was the mother of three children of whom she raised as a single parent. Her contributions to various local charities were just one example of her caring and generous spirit. She was a dedicated Christian, loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sister Patty; daughter Sherry; grandson Justin; granddaughter Darla; three great-grandsons Giovanni, Antonio, and Adrianno; and numerous nieces and one nephew. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on June 8, 2014 at Palm Eastern Mortuary. A burial service will be held on June 12 at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
