Luciano Michael Zaccarelli, 69, of Las Vegas, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 2, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Luciano S. and Carmela (Lupoli) Zaccarelli. Luciano grew up in Brooklyn alongside his three brothers: Anthony, Michael, and Robert.
On May 19, 1979, he married the love of his life, Desiree (Royere) Zaccarelli. The couple recently celebrated 46 wonderful years of marriage. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Las Vegas, where they built a full and joyful life together. Over the past four decades, they raised three successful children—Nicholas, Christina, and Monet—and enjoyed fulfilling careers before retiring together in 2018. Since then, they have spent their time traveling the world, sharing countless adventures.
Luciano began his career as a mechanic in Queens, New York, mentored by his uncle, Joseph “Sonny” Lupoli. He later worked at Grand Buick of Jamaica, Queens. After moving to Las Vegas, he joined Cashman Cadillac and worked there until 1994, when he found his true calling as a Corrections Officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He proudly served in that role for 24 years and loved going to work each day until his retirement.
Luciano had a natural zest for life that kept him in constant motion—always active, always engaged, simply because it brought him joy.
Above all, Luciano was a devoted family man - a constant provider and protector whose love and loyalty were felt by everyone around him. His greatest joy was being with his family, and he especially loved cooking and entertaining. He was immensely proud of his three children—Nicholas, Christina, and Monet—and considered their accomplishments his greatest legacy. He had a passion for travel, and he rarely missed a chance to capture the moment with a selfie. He also enjoyed cruising, the beach, snorkeling, photography, and even building Legos. Luciano had a gift for making friends with anyone he met; his warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Luciano was a dedicated member of Awaken Church in Las Vegas, connected with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. His Christian faith was central to his life, inspiring him to live with compassion, humility, and a heart for service. He was especially committed to the church’s Men’s Fellowship group, where he built meaningful friendships and drew strength from the supportive community. Romans 8:35-39
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Luciano is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Desiree; his son, Nicholas Zaccarelli and his partner, Jessica; his daughters, Christina and Monet Zaccarelli—all of Las Vegas. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Alina Zaccarelli of Long Island; sisters-in-law, Barbara Zaccarelli of Ozone Park and JoAnn Zaccarelli of Long Island; three nephews, Anthony, Andrew, and Joseph Zaccarelli; one niece, BobbiAnn Zaccarelli; as well as many cousins and devoted friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Luciano and Carmela; his mother-in-law, Louise Lupoli; his brothers, Anthony and Michael Zaccarelli; and his nephew, Michael Zaccarelli.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 West Warm Springs Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89113.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Palm Northwest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Luciano’s memory may be made to World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization that helps children and families in need around the world. Luciano was proud to support World Vision through a partnership with his church, where he was chosen as a sponsor by a young child in Kenya. He found great joy in supporting her growth and well-being. To contribute in his honor, please visit www.worldvision.org.
