Born on November 15, 1953 in Santa Monica, California, Marc spent the majority of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city he loved deeply and helped shape through decades of legal work, business ventures, and community connections. He was the son of David and Miriam Gordon, both of whom preceded him in death.
Marc graduated from Las Vegas High School before attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for his undergraduate degree. He went on to earn his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1978, the same year he proudly became a member of the State Bar of Nevada. Over the course of his long legal career, Marc built a reputation for his sharp mind, steady judgment, and deep knowledge of commercial and real estate law.
He practiced at his brother’s firm, Gordon and Silver, later co-founded Berkley and Gordon, and eventually served as General Counsel for Yellow Checker Star. Whether in private practice or corporate leadership, Marc was known for his fairness, practical wisdom, and unwavering professionalism.
Outside the office, Marc was endlessly energetic. He was an avid athlete who participated in golf, tennis, softball, and basketball tournaments for many years. He cherished his lifelong friendships, especially a close-knit group of childhood friends who continued to gather regularly for golf outings and monthly lunches. Those traditions were a constant source of joy and laughter for him.
Marc also had a deeply entrepreneurial spirit. He was always exploring new business ideas, but none made him more proud than the SleepMaster sleep mask, a product he created, patented, and grew into a top seller on Amazon alongside Annabel and Roger’s mother, Cynthia Callendar Gordon. His ingenuity, creativity, and persistence shone brightly in this achievement.
Above all, Marc’s greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his children Benjamin Gordon and daughter-in-law Kimberley Hyson, Annabel Gordon, and Roger Gordon; his grandchildren Gabriel Gordon and Heath Gordon; and his brother Gerald Gordon and sister-in-law Yvonne Gordon. In recent years, Marc loved spending time with his grandsons, Gabriel and Heath, and rarely missed their little league games or skating practices. He was deeply looking forward to cheering them on in the upcoming little league season.
Those who knew Marc remember him for his kindness, his good humor, his entrepreneurial spark, and the warm, positive spirit he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the friends who cherished him, and the many people whose lives he touched through his work.
He will be deeply missed.
