Mariano Gaite Viernes Jr., 70, passed away on January 16, 2022 at home in Las Vegas, Nevada due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born on January 30, 1951 to Mariano and Nelly Viernes, and he was raised in Project 2, Quezon City with his six siblings. He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Elvira C. Viernes; his daughters, Catherine Viernes, Nellie Yoshimura, and Mary Ann Viernes; and his grandchildren, Audrey and Caleb Yoshimura and Jason Viernes. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary in Las Vegas, and he was laid to rest at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, California.
