

to Jesus, with loved ones by her side, on November 26, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Clara (Zell) Gable on November 10, 1934.
Marilyn was a devout Catholic and her unwavering faith in God is the foundation on which she built her life. For many, she was the closest example of Christ’s unconditional love for us all. Those who knew her best would describe her as faithful, kind and generous.
She was married to the love of her life, James Jacobs, for 34 years before his death. Together they were blessed with 3 wonderful children. Marilyn was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker. She never missed any of her kid’s sporting or schooling events. As a family they would spend quality time at Lake Thunderbird and then later Woodsmoke.
Marilyn always put others first and dedicated much of her life to serving her community. She volunteered at and was a member of several organizations throughout her life including The Imperial Drum & Bugle Corps, Living Grace Homes, the Clark County Museum, Las Vegas Towne Club, St. Viator Women’s Ministry and the Red Hat Society.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her daughter Lisa Jacobs and sons Andy (Cyndi) Jacobs and Bob Jacobs; grandchildren Tony Jacobs, Gina Jacobs, William Jacobs, James Jacobs, Ashley Jacobs, TJ Vanco, Mary Vanco, Keara Prince and Brian Vanco; great grandchildren Jaqueline Rivera and Bennett Jacobs; many nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was proceeded in death by her husband, James Jacobs; and her sisters Jean Szafranski, Kathy Milani and Barb Roberson; and cousin and best friend Dee Dee Korman.
Her family and friends will miss her big presence in their lives but rejoices knowing she is at peace and resting as the good and faithful servant she was.
In respect for Advent, the church and family requests donations to be made to Living Grace Homes (livinggracehomes.org) in lieu of flowers.
