The beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born in Dubuque, Iowa, to Frederick Neyens and Eleanor (Burke) Neyens. Mary Ann met her future husband, Henry, while working in Hawaii. The couple, who celebrated 56 years of marriage this year, lived in the Bay Area and Napa, California, and Gilbert, Arizona, before moving to Las Vegas in 2015.
Mary Ann was a natural athlete. During high school, she was an Iowa state tennis champion and helped pioneer women’s sports at the school. As an adult in Napa Valley, she played tennis, soccer and softball. She also had an eye for design, creating lovely homes for her family and sewing beautiful clothes for her two daughters.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Henry Haddock, of Las Vegas, daughters Stacy Haddock Falcone of Las Vegas and Leslie Haddock (Kevin Linker) of San Francisco; brothers Patrick Neyens of Seattle and Thomas Neyens of Saint Paul; grandsons Wyatt Henry Falcone and Branson Tate Falcone and granddaughter Lola Eleanor Linker, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Michael Joseph Neyens.
Burial will be held at a later date in Tulocay Cemetery in Napa Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Las Vegas.
