Maxima Meneses Weiskopf, affectionately known as Linda, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the age of 83, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda was originally from Angeles City, Philippines where her father Maximino Meneses and mother Rosalia Taruc Meneses raised her and her ten siblings.
It was there that she met and fell in love with a handsome G.I. named Glennon Weiskopf. Glenn was stationed at Clark Air Force Base. Any free time he had was spent courting Linda under the ever-present eyes of her father and siblings. They married and went on to raise three children. Upon Glenn’s retirement from the military, the family would settle in Las Vegas with both Linda and Glenn working as civilians at Nellis Air Force Base.
Sadly, Linda would become a widow at the age of 58. As always, being the five-foot-tall resilient rock that she was, her home continued to be the family gathering place. A place where you knew you would find love and a delicious plate of Filipino food waiting for you, and where grandchildren could count on a $20 bill being slipped to them without their parents seeing.
Linda was predeceased by her loving husband, Glenn; parents Maximino and Rosalia; and eight siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Sparks of Las Vegas; daughter, Julie Mills (Bobbee) of Henderson; son James (Carla) of Las Vegas; sister Patricia Shepherd of California; sister Amalia Kim of Guam; grandchildren Jacqueline, Jennifer, Max, Spencer, Jameson, Cameron, Jordann, Christian; great grandchildren Conner, Kadence, Xander, Oliver, and many nieces and nephews both in the Philippines and the United States; and her dear friend and partner in crime, Miyoko “Miki” Brown.
