Mertha Menil Buban

Mertha Menil Buban was born on May 11, 1931 in Surigao City, Philippines. She was the daughter of Eulalia Rodrigo and Gregorio Menil. She married her beloved husband Celedonio Buban in Quezon City on May 12, 1955. They had six children: Dinah, Bel, Amelito, Debbie, Noel and Celedonio Buban Jr; the youngest passed away in 1990.

She was a business woman back in the Philippines. Later in life, Mertha and her husband, Celedonio Buban, made a decision to move to the U.S. When she wasn’t spending time with the family she took up many hobbies and activities such as cooking, sewing, and traveling. When she came to Los Angeles, California, she became a nurse assistant and loved to care for people in need. She then retired in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Mertha Menil Buban passed away at the age of 82 on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:30 pm at the Creekside Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She had nine grandchildren: Erick, Don, Nathalea, Naomi, Kayla, Netanya, Arielle, Noelle and Gabriel.

Mertha Menil Buban was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. She will always be loved, missed, and remembered by her family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89146 on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the same place on August 23, 2013 at 12:00 pm.
