He was born August 15, 1945 in Murray, Kentucky to parents Rollie and Garnell Creason. On June 9, 1990 he married the love of his life Gracie.
Mike, as he was known to his friends and family, was a retired automotive mechanic. His love for drag racing was well known. He was an avid drag racer and member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). In his early years of drag racing, he raced in many different states. As the years went by he raced mostly at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway which was considered his second home. He spent many hours working on his and Gracie’s cars preparing them to go racing. His life’s ambitions were to walk his daughter Becky down the aisle at her wedding and watch her start a family of her own. He loved watching his grandson Mason drive his junior dragster and was very involved with his early drag racing career.
Mike was a good friend to all and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His smile was infectious, and he was not often seen without it.
He is survived by his wife Gracie; her son Phillip Landram and his wife Jessica; daughter Becky Phlegar and husband John; and grandchildren, Kristina Landram, Lindsey Landram, Amber Landram, Mason Phlegar, Zachary West and Michael West.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Speedway Children’s Charity.
