Nicholas Scott Scheafer was unexpectedly called home to the Lord on June 18, 2010.
Nick was born in Billings, Montana on February 9, 1991, the son of Warren and Kathy Scheafer. Even at a young age, Nick was a breath of fresh air, always a happy go lucky soul, making his family and friends laugh and smile. He followed in his brother’s footsteps and began playing hockey at age 5. When Nick turned 9, he moved to Las Vegas with his family and they all became a part of a much bigger and very supportive family – the hockey family. He played hockey for the Las Vegas Outlaws and most recently the Billings Bulls. He had been accepted to UNVL with the intention of playing hockey while majoring in hotel management.
Nick is survived by his parents, Warren and Kathy Scheafer; his older brother Ryan and younger sister Katie; his grandfathers Larry Kramer and Gary Scheafer (Diane Gettlefinger) his grandmother Linda Hamilton (Ron Hamilton) and great grandmothers Elizabeth Scheafer and Alma Kramer. Nick is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nick, we will miss you so much, your beautiful smile, infectious laugh and your zest for life. You were a cherished son, beloved brother and a true friend to so many.
Services will be held for Nicholas on Tuesday, June 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary, 7600 So. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV.
The Nick Scheafer Memorial Fund has been established and memorials can be mailed to Team Las Vegas Hockey, 9295 West Flamingo Road, Suite 130, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
