Paul Robert Chimino, 77, a resident of Henderson, NV for the past 16 years, passed away on September 18, 2018 at home with his wife Jeanne and son Christopher by his side. A battle with Pancreatic Cancer took this U.S. Marine down.
He was a loving husband to Jeanne for 53 years, father to Paul Jr., father and best friend to Christopher till the final hour.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on December 17, 1940, growing up in the 40’s and 50’s provided him a fun life for an active kid. He shined shoes, had a paper route, worked at a body shop, played sports and didn’t come home until dinner time. Bullard Heavens Tech is where he loved playing sports and being a high school kid. The excitement really began when he joined the Marine Corp; he had endless stories about boot camp and the adventure of traveling the world. “He never could have imagined being on an aircraft carrier on the other side of the world.”
He married Jeanne and bought a new house…”a dream for a kid from the west end” in Milford, CT. He always enjoyed being a home owner, with endless projects to keep busy and being a little league coach on the field or in the back yard.
He worked as a tool & die maker/research & development in Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford until retiring at 61. He loved retirement and made many wonderful friends in Henderson. He had fond stories of kind neighbors, hiking club adventures, The Bocce Team, playing golf, the financial club, the Italian Club and many functions such as Derby Day.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10:00am at the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Henderson, NV.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
