Paul Pangilinan Pineda (56) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 11th. He was born in 1969 in Macabebe, Philippines, to Artemio and Cresencia Pineda. After immigrating with his parents to America in 1972, Paul was raised in Oakland, California, and graduated Cum Laude at Bishop O’Dowd High School. With a passion and drive to further his education, he moved back to the Philippines and went on to study mechanical engineering at the University of the Philippines. However, after three long years on his own, he no longer felt that it was his calling and found himself in Teaneck, New Jersey—searching for purpose and belonging. It was there that he would meet the love of his life and discover a newfound passion for automobiles, becoming a skilled automotive tech.
Paul and Lilli Ann’s love would quickly blossom, and they would later marry on October 24th, 1995. Together they have three children: Anna Lauren, Alyssa, and Aidan Jace. The couple would plant their roots in Las Vegas, Nevada, and spend the rest of their lives capturing beautiful memories in their quaint but ample town surrounded by family. Paul would go on to receive his real estate license, become a property manager, and then a real estate broker—eventually opening his own brokerage company. He worked hard each day towards his dream of retiring in the Philippines along with his doting wife. Together they had hoped to ultimately open up a coffee shop by the beach and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Paul was known for his never-ending patience, contagious laughter, and affinity for ice cream (or sweets in general). He enjoyed music, traveling, biking, playing with his dog Oreo, and of course, spending time with family. He devoted his life to his city and was constantly giving, even in his final moments. A beloved husband, father, son, business owner, and now—hero.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and laughter, and we will continue to honor his memory by upholding the same principles. He is survived by his two parents, Artemio and Cresencia; his siblings, Pamela, Patrick, and Phillips; his wife, Lilli Ann; and their children, Anna Lauren, Alyssa, and Aidan Jace.
Though his time here on earth was cut short, Paul lived his life to the fullest, with one of his favorite song lyrics being:
“Live like tomorrow doesn’t exist!” - Sia
The Pineda family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Rose Siena Hospital, those at Palm Eastern Funeral and Cemetery, and the community of colleagues, neighbors, and friends for their endless kindness and support. It will always be remembered.
