Ping Ping “Annie“ Amsberry was born on April 24, 1968 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China to Wen Gan Yang and Lai Rong Li. She was raised and educated in China, speaking Cantonese and Mandarin fluently as well as writing Chinese proficiently. Ping Ping immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s where she continued her education in Colorado, learning to read, write, and speak English. She attended floral design school in Denver and received her diploma as a floral designer. During this time, she also chose the nickname “Annie.” Annie worked hard on her citizenship, doing many odd jobs along with being a florist. Her hard work and dedication paid off as she became a naturalized US citizen in May 1996. She met her future husband in 1997. Mike and Annie would marry in August 1998 and started a home and family in Eagle, Colorado. They joyously welcomed Marissa Anne and William Michael in 1998 and 2000, respectively. In 2005, the entire family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Annie accepted a position in the floral department at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino where she worked for the next 19 years. Annie passed away peacefully in her home on June 15, 2025 after a long fight with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Michael, daughter, Marissa, son William, sister Mei Mei Yang, and nephew Wei Jia Zheng. She is proceeded in death by both her mother and father. For the love Annie shared with family, friends, and pets, we are truly thankful.
