Raymond was born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico to Antonio Gallegos and Elsie Montoya on May 27, 1934. He was a veteran and served in the Navy from 1952-1954. Most of his life was spent in Las Vegas. He worked as a valet at the Stardust on the Las Vegas strip for many years. Ray bought many properties throughout his life which helped him to retire early.
Ray was a great story teller. He loved telling stories about his time working on the strip adn working for Frank Rosenthal. If you wanted to know anything you could ask Ray and he would most likely know the answer. He was very dapper and always looked his best. Playing keno at casinos was a great pastime. If you wanted to visit with Raymond there was a good chance that he was at Barley's Casino and Brewery Company Cafe. He loved their breakfast, 2 eggs, bacon, crispy hash browns, rye toast and coffee. Ray will be missed by many.
Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert, Ralph Jerry and son Ronald Gallegos. Raymond is survived by his long time girlfriend Suzanne Calo, daughters Rayma Kimball, Shelly Mish, son Raymond, sisters Charlene Radley and Dorothy Shope ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A beautiful soul is never forgotten.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmeastern.com for the Gallegos family.
