Reggie attended school in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 15, he moved to Cleveland to live with his brother Eddie Levert Sr. He traveled and worked with Eddie Sr. as a valet and road manager until his death. He also worked as a Road Manager, and as the hype man “The Don”, for his nephews Gerald and Sean Levert and The Rude Boys!
Reggie always told a lot of jokes and believed in tough love. He had a lot of love-hate relationships; you would know if you got his voice mail, he was always known as “The Don”. Reggie loved his family and he was the guy who kept everybody communicating with one another, no matter what. He touched a lot of lives and will be sorely missed. Reggie was a very strong and very passionate person but he was scared of dogs, until he met one special dog Tank (Eddie Sr.’s family dog).
Reggie was preceded in death by his parents Blanche Boykin and Samuel Lewis Scott; nephews Gerald and Sean Levert; and Uncle Frank Johnson.
He is survived by three siblings Eddie Levert Sr. of Henderson, Nevada, sister-in-law Raquel, Jestine Carter of Detroit, Michigan, brother-in-law Andre Jackson and Renee’ Scott of Detroit, Michigan; Aunt Annie Mae and Aunt Lois of Cleveland, Ohio; his many nieces and nephews: Eddie Levert Jr. of Texas, Kandice Brooks of Ohio, Asha of California, brother-in-law Jermaine McDowell, Shawnquetta of California, Calvin, Meleca, Andre Jr., Keydomma, Daryl, Theresa of Michigan, Cierra of Nevada, Maria “Eury” of California, Jarrel and Ms. Ryan of Nevada; great-nieces and nephews include: Kaidyn, Lemicah, Carlysia, Camryn, Sean Jr., Chad, Keith, Shari, Breoni, Brandon, Kennedy, Logan, Kyle, Jay, Joy, Demetrius, Andrea, Calvin Jr., and Chantz. He also leaves behind a host of additional loved cousins, great-great nieces and nephews, close friends, hommies, and as Reggie would say “aww that’s my man”. They will miss him terribly.
“Rest in peace Mr. Personality, Super-Star…but you still can’t sing!”—Vert
