It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Renato Reyes Cuenca. He was born on November 11, 1947 (Las Pinas, Philippines) and passed away June 9, 2025 (Las Vegas, Nevada). He was 77 years old.
Renato served and retired from the United States Navy as an Engineer (stationed at Florida, Hawaii, Washington, Vallejo, and Long Beach). He worked and retired from Southwest Marines (Long Beach), worked at JPL NASA (Pasadena), bought a house in Vallejo (California), Bellflower (California), Sacramento (California), Las Vegas (Nevada) and decided to retire in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He survived by his four daughters along with their families, Shella, Shirley, Shellane, and Sharon; eleven grandchildren, Arnel-Justin, Christian, Abigail, Annalyssa, Adriana, Anthony, Alyssa, Kalani, Kaleo, Kaimea, and Kaimaile; and two beautiful great grandchildren, Aulani and Aris.
Words can never fully express the depth of our loss, we are still coming to terms with the loss of the one who gave so much of himself to ensure we always felt safe and loved. His sense of humor, laughter, wisdom, and presence filled our days, and now his absence feels immeasurable.
As we begin this new chapter in our lives to navigate life without him (while we are still coping living without our mom too) we will find comfort in the memories we shared and the life lessons he passed on to us - importance of family, responsibility, to be hardworking, independence, resilience, and perseverance to attain our goals. The sound of his laughter and humor, his strong will, the love he and mom shared will forever echo in our hearts.
We thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and we would greatly appreciate your contributions and support during this time of grief and remembrance.
His daughters with love and unity,
Shella, Shirley, Shellane, and Sharon
