Richard James Asmussen

Richard was born in Minnesota to Henry Asmussen & Alyce Smith on December 1, 1943. He married the love of his life, Rose Siglos Asmussen on August 10, 1991 in Anchorage, Alaska. Richard loved Rose with every ounce of his being.They lived most of their married life in Newport Beach, California and then moved to Henderson, Nevada back in 2004. Richard enjoyed hosting parties at their house, embracing his wife’s huge family from the Philippines with much delight and fondness.

Richard took great pleasure in spending his time going to the Casino. He cared very much for Starbucks’ cafe americano. He was an entrepreneur who enjoyed managing his wealth. Richard and his wife attended Central Christian Church in Henderson, NV. He loved God and believed in Christ his Savior.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Rose Asmussen on November 12, 2016; parents, Henry Asmussen & Alyce Smith; and brother, Fred Asmussen. He is survived by siblings John Asmussen, Marylou Gray, Linda Mace, half-sister Sharon Olsen, nephews Robert Gray, Daniel Asmussen, Christopher Legge, Wayne Curtis & David Asmussen and nieces Allison Maier, Stephanie Sterrett, Vicky McConnell, Mary Curtis, Nancy Jo Parton and Jean Marie Curtis.

Pallbearers will be Mark Banate, Derwin Siglos, Jumar Siglos, Kenneth Siglos, Jay Siglos and Scott Husband.

The family of Richard wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ana Rodriguez & her staff who took good care of him during his last days & for Mr Philippe Neraud, for his assistance in coordinating Richard’s end of life care and internment.

To everyone who made Richard smile in one way or another and have had the opportunity to touch his life as he touched and blessed others, Thank you! “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us

the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

A visitation will occur from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 1, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A graveside service will occur Friday, November 1, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
