Richard Joseph Reiss

Richard J. Reiss, died on May 6, 2025, with his loving wife, Angela and son Richard Jr, at his side. Richard was born on September 14, 1940 in Ridgewood, NY to Marion and Edmund Reiss. He was a proud Navy veteran and happily shared his Navy stories with anyone how would listen. He was a two-time Past Commander and current member of the Sgt. Edward R. Miller VFW Post #733 (Glendale, NY) and a member of the Alfred Lucia Chapter 118 of the DAV. He was Head Usher at St. Francis of Assisi in Henderson, NV, for many years.

He was married to the love of his life, Angela, for over sixty years. After his retirement from the NYC Transit Authority as a train motorman, Richard and his family relocated to Henderson, NV.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Angela, and son, Richard Jr; brother James Reiss, and sister Mary Ann Reiss, late brother Edmond Reiss, and many nieces and nephews. He loved all his nieces and nephews and eagerly shared his many stories and jokes.

Visitation services will be held May 15, 2025, 5pm-8pm, at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas NV. Catholic Mass honoring Richard will be June 9, 2025 at 10 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Pkwy, Henderson, NV. Military burial services will follow at 1:20 pm on June 9, 2025 at Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City NV.
