

Rita Diane Johnson, age 68, of Las Vegas, a retired teacher and corporate trainer, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Las Vegas.
Rita was born on August 28, 1956 in Garden City, Kansas and brought a vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to everything she pursued throughout her life. Known affectionately by many as “Majic,” she left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rita had a deep passion for education and devoted herself to helping children find success. Her commitment to learning and mentorship touched countless lives, inspiring young minds and opening doors to brighter futures. Whether through formal roles or personal guidance, she was a steadfast advocate for growth and opportunity.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Rita embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She loved playing golf and found joy on the fairways. She also practiced Tae Kwon Do, a testament to her discipline and adventurous spirit. These pursuits reflected her dynamic personality and zest for life.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Eva Powers and brothers, Dean and Rod Powers.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Johnson, brother Richard Powers and numerous nieces and nephews.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. Private family services are being planned.
