Romeo was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy and served our country for 20 years most notably in the Vietnam War. After the US Navy, Romeo was employed with the US Post Office where he worked as a mail processor for 13 years. Romeo lived life to the fullest! He traveled the world during his tenure with the US Navy and often shared exciting stories from his travels. He moved his families to the Philippines not only to experience the culture and tradition, but to broaden their perspective and appreciation for the simple things in life. Romeo has a big family and many friends; always a social butterfly and life of the party. Romeo had a variety of interests that kept his body moving and his mind sharp. Romeo was the expert horse racing “Handicapper”; the family “Top Chef” who loved to cook authentic Filipino dishes; the Ballroom dancer specializing in the Cha Cha and Tango; he had an eclectic collection of music and loved to sing karaoke; he enjoyed playing cards during game night with the family and had the ultimate Poker Face; he was a fan of all sports especially San Diego Padres baseball; he was affiliated with the Baguio Walker’s Club and Fleet Reserve Association; and he participated in vision, medical and dental missions as the President of the Lions Club of Baguio City. Above all the activities and affiliations, Romeo was a sweet, optimistic, thoughtful, understanding and supportive Dad, Husband, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother and Son. Romeo was the family patriarch, the “Chief,” but still and always will be referred to as “Daddy” by his children. He had the incredible ability to remain strong and positive despite the most difficult circumstances; his faith in God and love of family carried him through. He was open minded and forward thinking; always imparting wisdom and sound advice with the big picture in mind. Romeo is admired for his determination and the depth of his character. We will miss Romeo dearly and will hold fond memories of him in our hearts and minds every day. We love and cherish you Daddy!
