Rutha Bell Singleton

transitioned peacefully on Jan 10, 2024. She was 76 years old.

Ruth was Born on August 11, 1947, to Elloise and Benjamin Johnson jr. Ruth held a great love for her

home of South Carolina where she was born and raised. Growing up she had 12 Brothers and Sisters, 8 of

whom preceded her in death, Margaret (Pegg) Johnson, William (Boot) Johnson, David Johnson, Thomas

Johnson, James (J Rock) Johnson, Roosevelt (Row) Johnson, Richard Johnson, John Johnson. She leaves behind 2 sisters Jeanette (Nette) Snider, Mary (Red) Keitt, and a brother Ronley (Runt) Johnson. And 3 sister-in-laws Gwendolyn Singleton, Alice(Bonnie) Johnson and Willie(Ann) Johnson. She also leaves

behind a host of cousins and Nieces and nephews and friends.

Ruth met her husband Otis when she moved to Brooklyn NY. They were introduced through her Cousin

Charles Breland who was a close friend of her soon to be husband. Ruth and Otis Married on Feb 24,

1968. For a while Ruth was a Military wife until they moved back home to NY where they welcomed 3

girls Anissa , Maxine , and Koronda. She leaves behind a loving husband Otis whom they share 5

grandsons Terell , Trevon , Tyrese, Kirtson, Jordan, and one granddaughter Madysine. Two great

grandchildren Terell (Lil-T) and Tiearra.

Ruth was a stay-at-home mom until she decided to further her education and go back to school to

become a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She enjoyed her work and the clients she took care.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends so much that her home was always host to

Birthday parties, BBQs, and all kinds of celebrations. She loved to cook, and she loved to travel. Anytime

she could get away she was on the road traveling whether it be to South Carolina, Canada or on a family

cruise she was always up for a good trip with family.

This is a loss we all share, as you all have expressed your love and condolences, in return, please accept

our condolences to each of you. May God continue to bless you, and keep you in good health. AMEN

As I grieve the loss of my mother, thank you for the hope and assurance that comes from your

resurrection. You conquered the grave and ascended into heaven where you are interceding for your

people. I thank you that my mother is in your presence now and that one day we will be reunited.

Prayer for Comfort

Heavenly Father, I lift my family to you in

prayer. I ask that you would surround them in

your peace and comfort as they walk and try

to to maneuver through this great pain and loss.

I pray you to wrap them in your loving arms and

let them know and feel you are so very close

during all of this. Be their strength. Be their

guide. Give them wisdom. Help them choose

you in every moment as they grieve and heal

from this. By your power, Christ conquered

death and the enemy! I pray you will give my

family the blessing of your peace and

your joy amid their grief. Jesus died and rose

again and is sitting at your right hand,

interceding for your people. Please intercede

for my family. Your Word says that Jesus

sings over us and loves us more than we can

ever imagine. It also says you are near the

broken-hearted. I ask that you would not only

remind my family of all this but bring

comfort to their weary heart. I thank you for

them and their life. Help them see the good

in every day. Help them see you in this deep pain.

We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
