Sandra Jo Sexton

Sandy was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to William E. and Shirley L. Slusser on April 18, 1956. In her early years, she resided in McKeesport, Pennsylvania before moving to San Diego, California in 1965. In 1989, she relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where she married John D. Sexton and continued to love and raise her family until her death. She worked at United Healthcare for 32 years before retiring in 2023.

In May 2016, she was a recipient of an organ donation which gave her an additional eight years to spend with family and friends. Her family will forever be grateful to the organ donor for their generous gift of life.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, William E. & Shirley L. Slusser and her sister, Sherry L. Mohler. She is survived by her husband, John D. Sexton; her children Kerri L. Van Horn (Scott) of Orting, WA, Justine M. Bradford (Brian) of Las Vegas, NV, and Christopher J. Sexton (Rebecca) of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren Zachary J. Van Horn, Ashley M. Van Horn, and Brayden W. Bradford; brother Lynn W. Slusser (Nancy) of Peoria, AZ; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 5pm PDT on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. Light dinner reception will immediately follow the service. For those unable to attend in person, a video link will be provided.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Loma Linda University Health where she received her organ transplant.
