Shirley Faye Helmick, passed away April 10, 2011. She was born March 7, 1930, in Alamosa, Colo., and graduated Center H.S. She was a 51-year resident of Las Vegas. Shirley loved to knit and needlepoint, and was an active member of her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verle Helmick. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Kent (Sally) Helmick and Lyle (Barbara) Helmick; and two grandchildren, Kris and Kimberly Helmick. Celebration of Shirley's life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, at Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd.
Burial at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Odyssey Hospice.
