

Stephen Thomas Tucker passed away August 30, 2017 at the age of 77. Steve was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Berkeley, California, and raised in Oakland and Hayward in the East Bay. Upon graduation from Hayward High School in 1957, he began undergraduate studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He continued his studies at Willamette University School of Law in Salem, Oregon, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1965. His legal career evolved from the Alameda District Attorney's office, private practice in Hayward, D.D.A. in Sonoma County and 25 years in Ventura County. He was a leader of the California Family Support Council in the 1970s and 80s, serving as president in 1985-86. Steve was sponsored in 1968 by his father to join the Rotary Club of Hayward. He is a past president of the RC of West Santa Rosa and Ventura East. Travel, sailing, fast cars, Corvettes mostly and collecting stamps were Steve's avocations. His stamp exhibits advanced to the national and international level and achieved Gold Medal recognition. Steve retired from Ventura and moved to Henderson in 2005. Stephen joins his parents, Gene and Marin Tucker; and his daughter, Lisa Tucker in Heaven's embrace. He is survived by his wife, Jan; his children, Jennifer Tucker Darby, Gene Tucker and stepdaughter, Kendra Sullivan; his brothers, Gary Tucker and Brent Tucker; and 10 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV. 89123 on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
