Suzanne Marie (Brown) McNutt of Las Vegas, NV, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2020, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. She resided at Marquis Care Centennial Hills, an amazing long-term care facility.
Suzanne was born on May 21, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Harry and Alma Brown.
Suzanne attended Notre Dame Academy in Toledo and earned her associate degree in Radiology. She worked as an x-ray technician at St Vincent’s Hospital for several years and continued her career at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for 20+ years. She finished at Sunrise as a Mammography supervisor. Suzanne also volunteered for Nathan Adelson Hospice for many years.
When she moved to Las Vegas in January 1981, Sue (and Jim) bought a boat and spent weekends fishing for striped bass on Lake Mead. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She later became involved with Super Summer Theatre -something she truly enjoyed and worked her way from parking cars, to running concessions to being a board member. She also loved going to church and the movies with her good friend Pat Nacht.
Suzanne was all about family. Mom loved hosting extended family for all the holidays. She loved baking and always had fresh baked cookies available for anyone who visited. All our friends knew they could come to Sue’s house for a home cooked meal anytime.
Suzanne was an amazing woman, loved by all who knew her. She was kind and loving to everyone she met. She was a true example to us all in how to be a mother, wife, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed, but all who knew her know she is home with Jesus!
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57+ years, James B McNutt (2015) and her son, Denny McNutt (2000). She is survived by her adult children- Michael (Kim), Patricia (Jon-d), Denny-d (Amy) and Thomas (Carol); eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Janet (Fred-d), David (Nancy), Mary (George-d) and Josie (John).
An informal service for her interment will be held at Palm Mortuary Eastern on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 3pm. A reception will be held at Sunset Park immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center
