Vera Yvette Decker

1962 – 2022

Vera Yvette Decker passed away in the late evening of January 28th, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Yvette, as she was known as to everyone, was the most incredibly kind, loving, and selfless wife to Gregory Decker, mother to Justin & Kyle Decker, and grandmother to Noah, Anthony, Andrea, McKenzie, Jade, Oliver, & Harlow. She is also survived by her mother, Cleo Hannsens, and her sister, Valerie Kreilick.

Yvette was born on August 10, 1962 and raised in Bristol, PA until she moved to Lake Havasu in 1973, and then to Vegas in 1982. Yvette loved working with those with special needs and helped with the Special Olympics, where she met her future brother-in-law, Ronald Decker. That job led to her meeting the man she would later marry and spend the next 37 years with, Greg… Ronnie’s brother. Yvette married Greg on October 5, 1985 in Las Vegas, just 6 years before they started to expand their family, which included so many puppies that she could never get enough of.

Yvette always felt extremely blessed to have two very large families. One that she was actually related to, and the other being her work family. While she had children of her own to raise, she always found time, energy, and strength to show love, support, encouragement, and acceptance her “work children” that she truly viewed as her own. Her sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces all knew how much love she had for them, as she wore her loyalty on her sleeve. The last few years of her life were filled with more joy than she could have ever imagined, devoting all of her time to being an adored grandmother to all of her grandchildren.

Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Yvette knew that she was uniquely special. Unlike anyone! Her heart was always heavy with so much love and concern for her family and friends. Her love will be missed by everyone who remembers how wonderful she truly was.

Family and friends will gather to remember Yvette at 2:00 PM on February 16th, 2022 at Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery at 7600 S Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
