

Viola E. Gardner (Sage), beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on December 11, 2016, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 91. Family surrounded her as she peacefully surrendered into the arms of Christ.
Born on April 4, 1925, in Coggon, Iowa, Vi moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in her late teens. She was united in marriage to Walt Gardner on March 6, 1951, who preceded her in death on October 4, 1980. Vi’s occupations included work at Binion’s Horseshoe Club. She ran a trucking business with Walt while raising their three children.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Bock of Littleton, Colorado, and Cindy Jacobsen of Camarillo, California, her son, Joe Gardner of Pahrump, Nevada, her 5 grandchildren and her 3 great-grandchildren.
Vi was a loving and caring mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor. She was lovingly called “Nana” by all of her grandchildren. She moved away from Las Vegas in 1996, and lived with her daughter, Cindy and family in Nashville, TN, and Camarillo, CA, before moving to the Denver area with daughter Cheryl in 2013.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern (7600 S. Eastern, Las Vegas, NV). Public visitation will be available for the hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Vi Gardner Memorial Fund on www.GoFundMe.com.
