

William Leslie Sully, Jr., devoted husband, loving father, and prominent attorney, passed away on April 3, 2013. During his courageous 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer, he was lovingly cared for by his wife of 32 years, Cheryl, son Adam, and daughters Emily and Rachel. He is also survived by his brothers, Dallas Peltz and Winslow Sully, and fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Born September 14, 1949 to parents W. Leslie Sully, Sr. and Emily Winslow Sully in Tuxedo, New York, the family later relocated to Cambridge, Maryland, where Les graduated from high school in 1967. He went on to complete his undergraduate studies in Alabama at the University of Montevallo in 1971. Les earned his J.D. degree at Cumberland School of Law in 1974 and further achieved a prestigious LL.M. degree in taxation from New York University in 1976. He began his distinguished career clerking for the late Judge Howard Babcock in Las Vegas, Nevada. Les worked in, and was a founding partner of, several local law firms during his 37 years of practice. For the past 18 years he was a partner in the law firm of Leavitt, Sully & Rivers. During the course of his career, Les was an advisor to many of southern Nevada’s most successful and established entrepreneurs, businesses, and families.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 1 p.m., St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, with interment to follow at Palm Cemetery. Reception details will be provided at the conclusion of services.
