

Mary Clanton age 74 of Leoma crossed over the river Jordan at 3:45 AM Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Vanderbilt medical Center. She was a faithful member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Mary was a servant of her family and community. She was purposeful in helping and touched hundreds of peoples lives. The family hopes that everone who knew her would be inspired to serve as she did so beautifully.
She is survived by her husband Leon Clanton of Leoma; three sons Ricky (Gayle) Clanton of Leoma; Tim (Lesa) Clanton and Brother Chad (Pam) both of Lawrenceburg; one daughter Tonya (Sean) Haynes of Nashville; one brother James Bubba Smith of Lawrenceburg; one sister Bonnie Myers of Fayetteville; nine grand children Tisha, Kendra, Brandi, Josh, Brody, Chelsi, Evan, Erin, and Beck; and nine great grandchildren Kade, Kole, Jaci, Addison, Macy, Izzy, Case, Anniston, and Aloie.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry Smith and Lucille Byrd Smith.
Funeral service will be 2pm Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Bro Chad Clanton and Bro Brad Lowery officiating and interment in Gum Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 pm ~ 8 pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 and 1 pm ~ 2 pm Sunday October 28, at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the memorial building fund at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
