

Michael Stolte known as Mickey to his closest family members and friends passed away Sunday October 1st 2023. Michael was born and raised in South Amboy, NJ with the values of hard work, family first and the love of sports. Following HS, he proudly served in the US Navy on the USS W.L.LIND DD-703 where Mickey was able to travel the world including Spain and Italy and other amazing destinations that aided in shaping his character positively at such a young age. Michael’s Navy experience gave him the credentials to land a job with NJ Bell where he stayed for 36 years and where he met the love of his life Laura DiGiovanni.
Michael and Laura raised two boys in Helmetta, NJ and then retired in Lawrenceburg, TN as Michael always dreamed of living in the country. He loved the small-town culture and quietness and slow pace of TN.
Michael loved his cattle and the farm. He was his best self when he was outside either hunting or walking and enjoying nature. He was an amazing father who was always present and always had a joke to lighten the mood in tough moments. He was funny and witty.
Michael was a beloved husband and father; he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Laura DiGiovanni Stolte, his sons and daughter-in-laws Michael and Monique Stolte of Bozeman, MT and Sean and Julia Stolte of Seattle, WA. Also, his brother Matthew Stolte and sister Mildred Edwards as well as three beautiful grandchildren Emma, Michael and Anton.
The Visitation for Mr. Michael Stolte will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
Inurnment will be held at Mt. Lebanon Methodist Cemetery following the service.
