Alicia Salazar, 91, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Cedar Park, Texas. Born on August 24, 1934, in Ecleto, Texas, Alicia lived a long and full life rooted in faith, family, and quiet strength. Alicia worked as a printer for most of her career, demonstrating loyalty and an impeccable work ethic, and she did so with diligence and care. She also worked for a dry cleaner and retired from a grocery store. Outside of work, she never missed an opportunity to play BINGO, travel, or go shopping. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as reading, coloring books, and crossword puzzles, which kept her hands and mind active well into her later years. As a child, she made clothes for her siblings, and as an adult, she continued to perfect her sewing skills, making dresses for bridesmaids, costumes for special occasions, quilts, and home decorations. Her favorite color was red, and she collected Coca-Cola memorabilia. She cherished time spent with family and friends near and far, always making space for connection and love.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Alicia held steadfast to her belief in the Lord God as her Savior. Her faith was a guiding light that shaped her actions and relationships. Known affectionately by many as “little Grandma” and “Grandma Alice,” she is remembered for her astounding love, altruism, and self-sacrifice. She would give her last dollar to help someone in need, a testament to the depth of her compassion.
Alicia is survived by an ardent and loving family, including her son, Julio Salazar, Jr., daughter Leah Jones (husband David), and Lee Salazar (wife Beth), her sisters Julia Gonzales, Mary Nunley, and Elizabeth Leonard (husband Larry), and her brother Robert Moreno (wife Maggie), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her loving memory.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Frances Moreno, siblings Luz Moreno, Trini Moreno, Minnie Banda, Joe Moreno, Johnnie Moreno, and George Moreno.
Alicia’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with adroitness, warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on February 19, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1101 W New Hope Dr., Cedar Park, TX. A light lunch will be provided following the service.
