Dean described his life as a person that loved the Lord because of Christ gift of salvation and His unconditional love. Although it wasn't always that way for Dean. He was brought up in a Christian home, but rebelled in his youth, ultimately spending time in the juvenile justice system. God had His hand on Dean though, and since that time he has walked with the Lord for over 50 years.
Dean married Violet in Logan, Iowa in 1960. He moved to Lago Vista in 1974, and she soon followed. Dean was saved during a revival in 1975, saying it was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his shoulders. Violet soon trusted in Christ, in part because of the change she saw in Dean's life.
Dean owned a tile company for 35+ years and worked in construction. He was active in serving in the church as health permitted and also passionate serving in the Gideons International ministry.
Dean's favorite Bible verses include John 10:9 and Ephesians 2:8-9.
Dean is preceded in death by his wife Violet Taylor.
Dean is survived by his brother David Taylor of Leander, Texas. Oldest son Dean Taylor Jr. of Leander, Texas. Youngest son Ron Taylor and wife Abigail of Round Rock, Texas. Dean also has 3 grandchildren (Megan, Kaitlyn and Zachary) and one step grandson (Dominic).
The family thanks the many families and friends who have offered encouragement, support and prayers during this time. We would also like to thank the caregivers of Heart-to-Heart Hospice and North Austin Senior Living.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Gideons International ministry.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Bagdad Cemetery, 400 N Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641.
