Denise was born on August 9, 1961, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Waveline (Baker) Marshall. Denise is survived by her daughter, Corrine Belle Richardson of Cedar Park, Texas, who was her pride and joy, and her sister, Shelia Eckert of Waynesville, Ohio.
Denise worked as an X-ray technician and mammographer for over 30 years before being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 2014. Despite the challenges of her illness, including spending 10 months in hospice care in 2016, she faced life with courage, hope, and positivity, supported by the love and care of her daughter, who had been her caregiver for the past 10 years.
Denise’s greatest fulfillment in life came from being a mother to Corrine. In recent years, her greatest hope was to see her daughter return to school and graduate from UT Austin, a milestone celebrated together in May 2024, made even more special by the presence of Denise’s sister at the graduation.
Denise loved gardening, crocheting, arts and crafts, and the company of her sweet canine companion, Gus.
A service to honor Denise’s memory will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Leander, Texas.
