Diane Frances Gallagher died in Leander Texas on November 5, 2025. She is survived by her daughter Allison Duncanson, her son-in-law Ian, her two beloved granddaughters Vivian and Lillian, her two sisters Gwenn Gallagher and Susan Gallagher, a nephew and several nieces.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 10,1958, Diane was raised in a family of 3 sisters. Diane had a distinguished career as an executive in the hospitality industry. She organized conventions and large events in Orlando, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. Her family were always amazed at her ability to coordinate week-long events featuring celebrity chefs and culinary dinners for hundreds. Diane was always popular with her coworkers. She took an interest in everyone from the executive chef to the servers, from the AV guys to the florists, from the catering managers to the maintenance workers.
Despite her illustrious career, her greatest joy remained her family. After a long day at work, Diane was still ready to go out and ride bikes or attend volleyball with her daughter. Diane was great fun. She was always planning the next outing or the next meal. Her house was the favorite gathering place for Thanksgiving dinner and sleepovers for cousins.
Diane’s inner strength helped her overcome many obstacles in her life. She survived a difficult back surgery. She continued to work while being treated for cancer. Despite all these demands and being a single mother, she was devoted to her daughter Allison and never made her feel secondary.
When her granddaughters were born, Diane became their enthusiastic playmate and caregiver. Kindness was a theme throughout her life and she taught her granddaughters to be kind.
Even as her health declined, she retained her kind heart and fiery personality. We’re so grateful for her caregivers who appreciated, understood and valued her. And we are so grateful that Diane was part of all our lives.
