Frances Lee (Flora) Schmitt

Frances was born in Paris, Kentucky on May 13, 1926 to Ernest and Anna Flora. Frances was a Kentucky girl, raised in Paris, Kentucky. She graduated from Paris High School. After she met and married Robert Schmitt, she moved to Evansville, Indiana to be with Robert’s family and friends. After living there, Bob and Fran moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where he began his career with IBM. He was later transferred to Austin, Texas, where they spent many happy years. The street they lived on, Camelia Lane, is where they developed close friendships with their neighbors. They had many block parties, weekend trips, and fun times together. After Bob’s retirement they moved to Georgetown, Texas to live in Sun City and started another chapter of their lives. Fran enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and most of all playing bridge. But her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren. They spent hours splashing in her pool and playing every card game you can imagine. There was also bird watching and coloring for hours.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughter, Jenny. Fran is survived by her daughter, Nina Aldridge and son-in-law, Dale Aldridge; four granddaughters, Aubrie Kudrick and her husband Steve Kudrick, Adrienne Lindsey and her husband Josh Lindsey, Whitney Greer and Shelby Greer; and three great-grandchildren, Shawn and Taylor Lindsey and Jake Kudrick.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her bright smile and blue eyes will live on forever.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. For those desiring to honor Fran’s memory, the family has requested in lieu of flowers that a memorial contribution be made to Kindred Hospice, 2913 Williams Drive, Suite 320, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
