In Loving Memory Of Alyssa Lynn Austin

Alyssa Lynn Austin was born on April 26, 1999, she passed peacefully in her sleep and grew her angel wings on February 20, 2021. She is survived by her mother Amy Austin & stepfather Eric Beaverson, her father Dennis Austin & stepmother Maureen Austin, sister Ashley Austin & her fiancé John Zimmerman, niece Callie Zimmerman, nephew Dawson Zimmerman, grandparents; Lloyd & Ruth Seibert, Joe & Connie Heckard, aunt Jennifer Roberts, cousin Ashton Pond, her step siblings Alissa, Zach, Anna, Zophia, Josh, Jess & Hunter and her cat Bacon. Alyssa is also survived by out-of-state grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alyssa was a 2017 graduate of Cedar Crest High School, she was very active in the athletic community with her participation on the high school basketball team. She was among the few players who scored over 1,000 points in their high school career. Alyssa was also a current student at Penn State and a member of the Penn State Women’s basketball team. Anybody that knew Alyssa, knew that basketball was her life, along with her niece and nephew, Callie and Dawson, and her cat, Bacon. They were the light of her life and brought nothing but pure joy and happiness to her. Alyssa had the biggest heart and was always there for anyone who needed it no matter what. She loved everyone and everything with all that she possibly could. Alyssa had a heart of gold and touched the hearts of so many people. This world is never going to be the same without her here, but we know she will always be with us in our hearts and watching over us every single day.

The family will be holding a celebration of Alyssa’s life on Sunday April 25, 2021. They hope that you can join them and celebrate the kind, loving, amazing person that touched so many lives. The details for the celebration of life for Alyssa will come at a later date.

It was an absolute honor growing up with Alyssa. We were friends since elementary on up through highschool. I will always cherish the moments we shared together and watching her play basketball. I know she’s up there playing on a court of gold. Fly high beautiful.

Thoughts and prayers are with all the family members and friends. I will always remember playing Alyssa in basketball. She was always such a fierce player, and a supportive team member. Alyssa always made sure to give her all out on the court. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I was given to play beside her during our All-Star game in 2017. Rest easy.
