Kenneth Rauch, 87, Lebanon, passed away on Thursday October 12, 2023 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Julia M. Weaber Rauch. Ken was born in Lebanon on December 25, 1935, a son of the late Paul and Mary Gundrum Rauch. He served in the U. S. Army and was a 1953 graduate of Lebanon High School. Ken had worked for many years in the press room of the Lebanon Daily News. Ken loved to swim, and was known for taking many neighborhood kids home from Coleman’s Park swimming in his younger years. He enjoyed swimming his entire life and even swam into his 80’s at Blue Marsh Lake. He was a fervent fan of Lebanon High School sports and its band. He so enjoyed traveling near and far to follow his beloved Cedars. When the Cedars were not in games, his passions tilted toward the Eagles, Phillies, Penn State Football and Villanova basketball. Most importantly, he was a “Dad” to many of Cindy’s friends and he knew them all as his “daughters.” He is survived by his daughter: Cindy Rauch and a sister: Anna Mary Habecker. In addition to his wife, Ken was preceded in death by his son: Kenneth Rauch, Jr. and brother: Paul Rauch as well as sisters: Mildred Miller, Miriam Rauch, Arlene Heverling and Dolores Uhler. Ken’s funeral service will be Thursday October 19th at 7:00 pm in the Rohland Funeral Home 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, where a viewing will be held from 5:00pm until the time of service. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap on Friday October 20th at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that the greatest way people can honor Ken would be to help someone who may need assistance in much the same ways that he would have done. This would make Ken smile.
