Marlyn W. Gohn, age 91, passed away on February 23, 2026. Marlyn was born in York, PA on February 23, 1935 the son of the late Wilbur C. and Emma L. (Shaull) Gohn. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Krum) Gohn to whom he was married for over 60 years. Marlyn was a graduate of Red Lion High School class of 1953 and attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Art from 1953 to 1957. He entered the US Army in 1957 and served in active duty and in the Reserve Forces until 1963. Marlyn graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1960, after which, he joined the Rohland Funeral Home as a licensed funeral director. He retired from Rohland’s as President after 35 years of service. Marlyn was involved with the Lebanon Valley Kiwanis Club having served as President and Director of the Miss Lebanon Valley Pageant (precursor to the Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Americal Pageants). He served as the Membership Chairman of the Lebanon Valley Community Concert Association for 20 years. Marlyn served for 15 years on the Board of Directors of the Lebanon Library and 20 years as a Director of the Lebanon County Historical Association. Marlyn was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lebanon and served on numerous committees over the year. With his wife Jean, they served on the advisory committee of the Lebanon VISTAs program. While at Cornwall Manor, Marlyn served on numerous committees and volunteered within the Community.
Marlyn is survived by two daughters Amy Gohn (Greg) Anstine of Wrightsville, PA and Emily Gohn (Frederick) Cieri of Wynnewood, PA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Kara N. Anstine, Leo G. Cieri and Max G. Cieri. Marlyn is survived by a sister Jacqueline A. Herman of Red Lion PA. Marlyn and Jean considered Dian Beamesderfer and her children Brooke, Leigh, and Lyn, and Emmett and Brad, who we remember, as extended family.
Over Marlyn’s life what gave him the most joy was family and friends, community service, cooking, and travel. But, just like Jean, what defined him was his joy of entertaining. We invite you to join us in celebrating his life at 2pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Rohland Funeral Home. All are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund.
