Richard L. Harris of Oak Island since 1983 Passed away on June 4, 2022. He was born October 20, 1927 in Granite City Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and two sisters, his wife of almost 49 years Bonnitia, step son James Fullerton, and step daughter Franceen Ostapow. He is survived by his sister Evelyn of Murphysboro, Illinois, daughter-in-law Geraldine Fullerton of Stone Mountain GA, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Norma Queen, a family friend of over 50 years and a live in companion since 2006, they have spent summers in Upstate NY near Ithica and winters in Oak Island. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and retired as a Master Chief petty officer in 1967. He worked for the U.S. Navy in communications until 1983. From 1983 until 2006 he worked as a Realtor at Seaside Reality in Oak Island. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
