

S. Bruce Kurtz, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday April 10, 2026 in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Judith (Miller) Kurtz to whom he was married 64 years in September. Bruce was born in Myerstown on March 7, 1936, son of the late Samuel G. and Alice Susan (Potteiger) Kurtz. In his youth, Bruce was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1954 and Penn State University in 1958 with a B.S. in Business Administration. While at Penn State he was a member of Acacia fraternity. Bruce served his country in the U.S. Navy for 2 years, attaining the rank of Lt and was a member of the U.S. Navy Rifle Team, competing in the National Matches at Camp Perry, OH. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee; Kiwanis Club of the Lebanon Valley and was a past president. He also held directorships in Greater Lebanon Hotel Enterprises, Lebanon Mutual Insurance Co. and the Peoples National Bank of Lebanon. Bruce received the C.P.C.U. insurance designation in 1969. He was the secretary/treasurer of Samuel G. Kurtz, Inc. Insurance Agency. He also served terms on the North Cornwall Township Zoning Hearing Board. Bruce was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 226 F&AM; Weidle Royal Arch Chapter No. 97, Lebanon Council No. 27 (past Thrice Illustrious Master); Hermit Commandery No. 24 Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 25; Quittie Woods, and Rajah Shrine. Bruce enjoyed gatherings with his family and friends; hunting, fishing, golf and travel. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Ann Kurtz Judd wife of Jeffrey Judd, Williamsport; David Samuel Kurtz and wife Wendy, Palmyra; grandchildren: Julie Judd Bota wife of Bill Bota; Jennifer Judd Reyes wife of Eric Reyes; Cody David Kurtz and wife Kayla; Jackson Hunter Kurtz; great-grandchildren: David Elijah Kurtz, Lilian Elizabeth Kurtz, Daniel Levi Kurtz, Brielle Alinafe Bota and Josephine Judith Reyes. Memorial services will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 11:00am. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, PA 17042 with a visitation beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to St. Andrews Church or your favorite charity.
