 You left us all too soon.  Your visits to the store were always a treat.  Every man in the shop knew you as a sterling individual who always, ALWAYS, had a kind word and a smile.  A true gem of a human being.  There are far too few like you in this world.  Rest in Peace Vince.

I knew Vince from junior high through high school. I got to work with him at the V.A. Medical Center for the past number of years, till he retired because of health issues. Vince was always a good guy and stopped and talked everytime I saw him in the hallways or while on the wards. My condolences to his family and friends. Vince willed be missed greatly. Will keep Vince and his family in prayer.

Vinnie, you left us too soon. You are riding in the heavens now. You are sadly missed and will never be forgotten! Untill we ride together again my brother. RIP

Dear Vinnie: My Dear Friend Chuck introduced me to you 5-6 years ago; he thought we'd hit it off as good friends & riding buddies~ Little did any of us know what a huge gesture that would turn out to be....I bought you a diet coke that night, Chuck introduced us and w've been inseperable friends & riding buddies ever since! Since then, you have become so more more than a friend and more like a family member....For the past 5-6 years you spent every Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter Dinner with myself and my family, came to every one of my little girls' birthday parties'.
But what you did that was even MORE touching than all of that was somehow fill a void that has been empty for 11 years. This Jan 2nd marked 12 years ago I lost my Uncle Grizz....(by biker name) as you knew him....by given name he was simply Doyle K. Ernest, who died Jan 2nd 200o @ age 40 of complications of repeated surgeries to correct & "buy him time" with a hereditary disease spinal stenosis~ which I myself have as you were well aware, diagnosed at age 22. Grizz raised me around bikers, in the biker way of life, my mom worked 2 jobs and was quite busy, he taught me how to drive my first car & taught me plenty of things I probably didn't need to know as a teenager but as I grewolder I understood why. When "The Man Upstairs" as Grizz called God- decided to take him from us I was devastated....to this day I am not over his passing, have not made closure with it. But then you, Vinnie, came along, and eased the wound....you became "My Uncle Grizz on Earth" Many times I would tell you this and you would say "I feel honored...but what if i can't fill his boots?" all i needed was for Vinnie to be Vinnie. You'd drop by often, unannounced and say ya wanna go for a ride? but only after i cook you 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and adouble helping of mashed potatoes slathered with butter salt and pepper! Then we'd just ride....200-300--400 miles it didn't matter we'd just go- you had the same spirit that's in im that just wants to get out and get lost along the blacktop. You didn't know Grizz personally, but through myself and going to the "Grizz Memorial" an annual rally my extended biker family has on his behalf you learned much~ and learned you and he had much in common indeed. When i would be in the hospital the 1st person by my side was you, flowers and an American Iron magazine in hand, you'd sit by my side 4-5 hours every day i was there, bring me sodas, keep me company, talk. When i was down and out, it seemed you could sense it, you'd come knocking at my door, This year, without even being asked you supplied my 2 little girls' with a wonderful Christmas that i could not dream of giving them, with a husband in a recent trucking accident and my work down, expecting not a penny back....I have mostly all male friends, I am fortunate in that my husband is a very secure, loving, trusting, loving, understanding man. I have only one male friend who is married....I CHERISH his friendship more than he knows, but i DO understand he's a busy non-stop person and barely has time to sleep so I understand the pressures he's under~ I don't love him any less as a friend. We are all connected in this way.And his friendship means no less to me....these men, riding buddies, extended family have meant so much to me they are extended family~ Biker family that goes witout saying is so much closer than blood family, there is a common bond that others would not understand~ the feel of the wind in our hair, the commarderier of riding down the road together side by side, the friendship around the campfire out in nature. Vinnie, Chuck, Dave, "Kid" Brad, Bobby, Patti, Lisa, Wendy H, Jesse.....there are way too many names to mention here they know who they are and what they mean to me....as we say in Bker lingo....."Vinnie just rode on by for a minute".......Ride on Vinnie......Ride on now with Grizz, Ya got one hell of a ridin partner now brother!!!! Gone too soon, my dear friend.  I remember our last conversation in December, and so glad that I always told you how much I valued you as a friend and co-worker.  You always sought me out when you came to the VA to see how I was, and to lift me up with words of kindness and  praise.  I am sad you are no longer with us, but rejoice that you are in Heaven where we will meet again.  No more pain, no more suffering.  You are whole again.  Bob and I will remember you always.

Vince always took the time to ask my wife how I was doing when he would see her at her work. VInce buddy, I always appreciated that man ! You were a good person in and out and you will be greatly missed. Ride'on good friend !
