Walter “Duke” David Laudermilch, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 within the comfort of his home. He was born on December 18, 1943 in Lebanon, a son of the late Elmer E. Laudermilch and Pauline M. (Nye).
Duke graduated in 1961 from South Lebanon Twp. High School. He was a member of the Mt. Gretna Tennis Court and formerly worked for Key Dies in Palmyra. His true passion was for music. He loved Elvis, and in the 60s he was guitarist for his band, the Del-Rays. More recently, he was a proud member of the Singing Cedars Barbershop Chorus, and he loved to sing karaoke at Justine’s. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed getting breakfast with friends and family at the Hearth, served by his favorite waitress, Amanda. Duke was a simple man; to know him was to love him.
He is survived by his daughters, Jill M. Laudermilch and Allison Meckley; a grandson, Nathan Miller; sister, Jennifer (Bruce) Shay; a nephew, David Shay and nieces, Denise Shay and Heather Shay-Ruiz.
Duke was preceded in death by his cousins, John Nye and Dave Nye, of whom Duke recalled and treasured many fond childhood memories.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St. Lebanon, PA 17042.
