The last of his generation in our family, a great man, supporter, provider and protector.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter Karen Jensen; sons Ritchie (Kim) Jensen and Brady Jensen;
grandchildren Tara (Regent) Laviolette, Andrea (Brock) Stewart, Jenelle, Kyle, Chad and Haley Jensen;
great-grandchildren Luke & Paige Stewart; sisters-in-law Esther Jensen and Doreen Jones
and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Tony was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Shirley in 2003, his son Stuart in 2009, six brothers:
Edward, Nels, Arthur, Gus, Carl & Vic; one sister Anne Weishaar and his parents Nils & Katrina.
The oil patch was Tony’s life-long career which involved many job transfers and moves until his wife Shirley
put her foot down after the transfer with Flint Engineering to Nisku. They settled in Leduc where they built
their first brand new house in Corinthia Park in 1972. He was a perfectionist and took great pride in making their house a home.
It was a home where many memories were created, a home kept full with many family gatherings and grandchildren.
He formally retired from Flint Engineering in 1993. Although “retired”, he was continually called back for the odd jobs
which spoke to the respect he held in the industry.
Even though he never had anything good to say about his score, golf was his game. He played socially and watched avidly.
Tony was an ongoing active Legion member enjoying the camaraderie over a beer.
Weekday mornings he could be found with the A&W crew for coffee and gossip.
“Our lives shall be emptier for his absence, because they were made fuller by his presence.”
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at the City Life Church, 5216 – 50 Ave., Leduc, AB
on Saturday, March 18 at 2:00 pm.
Arrangements under the direction of Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel, Leduc, AB.
