Following her retirement, she explored other avenues for providing education working with Northern Lakes College in Paddle Prairie, teaching English in China and finishing her career teaching with the Saddle Lake Cree Nation. Throughout her life, Bernice enjoyed a wide range of activities including the theatre and gardening. She also loved to travel and felt fortunate to be able to go to many destinations in Africa, Europe and Asia.
A sincere thank you to all the medical staff, family and friends who helped during her illness. At Bernice’s wishes there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, to honor her memory donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Alberta or Ecojustice.
