Dennis had both a tender heart and sense of humour that endeared him to those around him.
He loved to make people laugh and was still making his nurses smile and laugh to the end.
Dennis loved adventure and lived in Zambia, Ottawa and Yellowknife before meeting his wife, Dianne in 1982 and settling down in Leduc, Alberta. Dennis graduated from the U of A with a Bachelor of Agriculture (1969) and CMA (1982). He used his education to help those around him, including spending two years in Zambia with CUSO and volunteering his skills as an accountant among various boards and organizations around Leduc. Dennis was a devoted father and his love and pride in his children were evident in his unwavering support throughout their lives. True to his farm boy roots, Dennis was most at peace outdoors and loved to garden, go for nature walks and canoe.
Dennis had a deep love of his family and will be greatly missed by his wife Dianne, son Scott, daughter Nicole (Luke) Mantyka and grandchildren Halle and Leo, and daughter Lindsey Mix (Dallas) and grandchildren Caleb and Hannah. He will also be missed by his siblings Ray, Claudette Bokenfohr, Lionel (Joan), Sylvia (Gerry) Demers, Marie (Larry) deBruijn), George (Divina), and Francine (Gerald) Longpre.
He was predeceased by Elie and Emma and infant brother Marc. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Agriculture class of 69 Bar None leadership award Endowment Fund at the U of A, or to Parkinson Association of Alberta.
