John Camiel Lowie

It is with great sadness that the family of John Lowie announce his passing on Wednesday July 26th, 2023, at the age of 88 years. He fought hard at the end and was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully took his last breath.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Louise; son Tom (Elaine); daughter Michelle (John) Tensen; grandchildren Curtis (Sarah Leonard), Sophia; and numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Camiel & Teckla, brother James, and son Allan.

John will be remembered most by family and friends for being a gentle, quiet, patient, and loving man. He was a truck driver by trade, but a family man by heart. John and Louise were each other’s everything. He loved his family and was always there to help, even when they didn’t know they needed help. He may not have always showed his love with emotions, but he showed it with his actions. With unexpected moments of wit, he would have people laughing. He shared his love for fishing and camping with family and friends during summer trips to a lake. He took great pride in the accomplishment of his children and grandchildren. John will be missed for all that he was.

Funeral services will be held for John on Thursday August 3rd, 2023, at 11:00am in Leduc at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 5105 45A Street.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and doctors at the Leduc Community Hospital Special Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion for John and his family.
