Myrtle Alice Weidman Mix

January 26, 1923 – June 28, 2014

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, who passed away peacefully on Saturday June 28, 2014 at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family.

It was a peaceful end to a vibrant and fun-loving life. Myrtle lived everyday like it was her first and last. All events were made special by her heartfelt spirit and she never wanted to miss out on anything. Through life she devoted time to various volunteer roles and the church and cherished her time with family.

She is survived by her children: Lorne (Tina) Mix, Gloria (Ian) Barrigan, Barb (Bert) Stadler, Sandy (Ken) Marsh, Ken (Nadine) Mix, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years; Reuben, grandchild Scott and brother Francis.

Viewing will take place at Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel, 4802 – 47 Avenue, Leduc on Monday July 7, 2014 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 12, 2014 at Fredericksheim Baptist Church, 49078 Range Road 243 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a lunch reception. Interment will then take place at the church cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Donna Huebner and all the amazing staff at Extendicare Leduc who provided wonderful care and love in Myrtle’s 5 ½ year home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Extendicare Resident Council, 4309 – 50 Street, Leduc, AB T9E 6K6.
