

Barb graduated from Blue Ridge High School in Susquehanna County, PA. in 1954 and married James that same year.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William & Lena Decker of Hallstead PA.; a brother, William of Hallstead, PA.; a brother, Charles of Great Bend, PA.; and a sister Lois of Hallstead, PA.
She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter and son-in-law, Ronald & Debra Roeder; a daughter, Diane Nixon; a son, James; a sister-in-law, Mary Decker; a brother & sister-in-law, John & Patricia Decker; a brother & sister-in-law, Curtis & Patricia Decker, a sister & brother-in-law, Myron & Lorna Howe; a brother & sister-in-law, James & Mary Lou Decker; an aunt, Ellen Garey; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren & multitudes of nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a wife and mother, Barb also worked outside the home much of her life. In retail for Sissoms Department Store in Binghamton, NY.; in banking in Binghamtom, NY.; in education, as a teacher’s aid, for the Blue Ridge School System in Pennsylvania; as a Kindergarten Teacher for the Hallstead Baptist Church School; as a tax preparer for H&R Block and as director of the day care for Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, NC.
Barb also served her Lord by being active in her church. She sang in the choir, worked in daily vacation Bible school, served as church clerk & financial secretary.
She and her husband also got to see much of God’s creation over their 50+ years of marriage. In addition to traveling extensively around the 50 US. States, Canada & Mexico, they also visited: Tahiti, Figi, Germany, Egypt, Niger West Africa, Algiers, France, Australia, & New Zealand.
For the last several years Barb has been struggling with Alzheimer’s but the Lord has finally released her from that affliction, Hallelujah.
