

Barbara Teas Whitfield

Barbara Whitfield, age 88, of Moody, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her family in the Grandview SICU Unit.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Thelbert “TL” Whitfield of Moody, AL; her parents, Clyde and Maxelle Teas of Haleyville, AL; her brother, Dr. Ray Teas and wife Becky of Calhoun City, MS; and her great-granddaughter, Brooklee Entrekin.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann Miles and Marion Barnes; grandchildren Misty (Jason) Whitson, Brett (Terri) Peters, Austin (Amber) Barnes, Stormy Peters, Calvin Barnes, and Grayson (Crystal) Barnes; and great-grandchildren Chayce (Aleigha) King, Taylor King, Kenlee Entrekin, Jordyn Peters, Tucker Byers, Ocie Byers, Ves Peters, Lark Peters, Memphis Barnes, Adalyn Barnes, and Emerson Barnes.
Born in Savannah, Tennessee, Barbara moved with her family to Haleyville, Alabama, at a young age. She later became a Registered Nurse and spent many years as a Neuro Intensive Care Nurse at Carraway Methodist Hospital. She then joined her husband TL as co-owner of Leeds Seating Company. Barbara and TL were long time members of First Baptist Church Leeds, until the moved to Lake Martin where they joined First United Methodist Church of Alexander City.
After retiring, Barbara and TL enjoyed many wonderful years living on Lake Martin, spending their mornings golfing and enjoying lunch at Willow Point Country Club. Barbara later returned to Moody to be near her family.
Known lovingly to all as “Mimi,” Barbara was cherished by everyone who knew her. Her warmth, strength, and kindness will live on through the family and friends she loved so deeply.
Visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
