Mr. Newton was a U. S. Army Veteran having served two Tours of Duty in Vietnam. He was Key Litigant for MDL 381 Class Action settlement for Agent Orange. Mr. Newton was a Lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his sons, Gregg Smith (Lydia), Mike Smith, sisters, Jo Evelyn Roper, Jean Bass, brothers, John Newton, James Newton, grandchildren, Trent, Courtney, Seth and Dustin.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
